Interview with Mariestads Newspaper

Earlier this week I got a question sent to me from the daily newspaper in Mariestad if they could arrange an interview about me and my jewelrys and paintings! I was a bit in shock when I read it at first. My first thought was that it must be some kind of spam or something but the more I read the more I understood that this was real and they wanted to meet me. I was really happy and at the same time a bit nervous. It’s really a 50/50 feeling to be in the spotlight. I’m so used to always ”work in the shadows” and it’s the most ”safe” place to be at but I also know that I cannot always stay there if I want to grow as both a person and increase the chances of my dream coming true; to be abel to make a living out of my art and creativity.

The article will be released in the beginning of next week I think they said. It’s really scary and exciting at the same time. I fight against a lot of ”what if I said something stupid” or anything which I usually have on occasions like this. But I try my best to just remind myself that despite my anxiety, I succeeded and carried through the interview with a new life experience in my luggage!

Later that day…

my little brother and I took a walk in the forrest, and of course the cats wanted to come along. It started to snow a lot, haha.

Figaro in the snow.
It become such a beautiful light trough the treetops!
Happy me!
Both Figaro and Kajsa have necklaces with led lights. Really handy when it’s getting dark outside, especially if you’re a black cat…
Took some photos a phew weeks ago before the snow melted away just before the new years eve. It gets so very beautiful and though I was really sick at that time I just couldn’t sit inside and knowing that all of this could be gone in just a phew days. And I’m so glad I did because the next day it all was gone.
I took a small walk outside our garden and sat down with a cup of hot chocolate and just sat there and listened to the silence for a while.
Our cute little house!
Figaro and Kajsa were not used to so much snow at first so when I went out they had a hard time following me and they did their best by walking next to the wall of the house, haha.

I found some pictures of our renovation

Trying out something new!

Hi! Before I start writing I just have to tell you that my English isn’t the best but I do my best and I hope you can all understand me even though it isn’t grammatically perfect or spelled the right way!

My name is Elvira as you may already have read about but if not here is a short description of whose blog you are reading at the moment!

I live in Sweden with my boyfriend Kevin and our two cats (Figaro and Kajsa) in a cute little house in the countryside. We have now lived in this house for almost 1 year now. At this time last year we lived in a appartment in the city 10 minutes from here and every morning Kevin drove me out to the house before he went to work so I could work and prepare for us to move in 1 month later. I have never wallpapered before or anything so this was all a new experience for me but I have always thought it looked fun to do, and it was!! But boy at first we stumbled upon alot of problems…like the wallpaper didn’t want to stick to the wall at first so we got to scratch of all of the previous wallpapers, then go in with putty (I’m not really sure if that’s what you call it, in Sweden we call it ”spackel”) to even things out when almost all of the wallpapers where gone. Then all the fun could begun!

I only had 2 lamps to work with that I got to take with me all the time as I moved to the other rooms. And no furnitures except one chair. I used to sit by the window when I ate my breakfast and lunch and look out at our small view of the lake Vänern. Even though the house looked like a big mess on the inside and it still was alot left to do I already felt so at peace. I couldn’t wait for spring to arrive so that I got to see how our garden looked like when everything was in bloom. I wanted to make a kitchen garden with potatoes, dill, oregano, asparagus, cucumber, tomatoes chillies you name it! And just imagine to be abel to do your own tomatosauce or just go outside and pick some fresh lettuce for your breakfast?

It my seem like nothing special for some but for me it was kind of my salvation to get away from the city and back to nature.

We moved into the house for real in mid-February and Mars. The time passed and I got to make my kitchen garden and flowerbeds. I even planted a rose-tree and blackberries, blackcurrant, strawberries and wild strawberries (”smultron” in Swedish). Though it was a war between me and the weed that grew back as fast as I got rid of it, but I will not give up so easily…we will meet again in the spring…

I am really looking forward to see what 2022 has to offer and I hope you all had a beautiful New Year’s Eve!!
